I got the outline of my giant back piece done last night, during which I heard some punk-style music playing (obviously... it's a tattoo shop), but what intrigued me were the perverted, but somehow charming, lyrics. I inquired. And thus I was introduced to the Pork Dukes.

Pennsylvania v. 3.0

And so ends my "summer of Pennsylvania." End of May for Adam's show in Philly, end of June for roller derby, and just now over the fourth of july for a little R&R&R (last "R" of "reunion") in DuBois, PA, off of I-80.
It was great. I'm still in post-vacation depression (which seems to be occurring a lot lately, so maybe that means something else?).
Adam's dad and his dad's wife were wonderful hosts. It was great to meet his dad's side of the family. We fished, swam in a lake, ate red meat, drank beer, played with dogs, and laughed for 3 days.
( Here are some pics. )
You can refer to
fractalnoise 's post about the trip, too.

"The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they've printed."
1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you really love (and strikethrough the ones you hate!).
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ so we can try and track down these people who've read 6 and force books upon them ;-)
( big ol' list )

the elevators in my office building have monitors that display news, celebrity birthdays, sports scores, weather, and similar fodder to keep you entertained during that dreadfully boring (rolls eyes) 4-second ride to the 30+ floors. this morning, though, was a real gem:
"when exiting a crowded elevator, it's best not to push your way through with your briefcase. instead, say 'Excuse me.'"

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too!
Version 2 is leaner, meaner, and features a more mature and varied set of questions than the previous test. Enjoy!

| Politics Your political views would best be described as Socialist, while philosophically you tend to think like a Liberal. | Socioeconomic Your attitude toward life best associates you with Upper Class. You make more than 81% of those who have taken this test, and 8% less than the U.S. average. |
| You tend to think more like an artist than an engineer. | Location-wise, you would probably be a good fit for the City. |
